Invoice rounding methods

ezyVet has two methods that a practice manager can use to configure rounding of invoice values.

Method: Price adjustment rule

A practice manager can use a price adjustment rule for invoice rounding. The price adjustment rule method is applicable only to rounding of invoice line items.

Method: System setting with a rounding product record

A practice manager can use the Round Invoice Invoices to Last system setting to enter a rounding value. ezyVet uses the rounding value to calculate rounding for the total value of an invoice.

The Round Back Invoices To Last setting
For ezyVet to calculate the rounding quantity, a basic product record is necessary. Thus, a practice manager:
  1. Makes a basic product record for invoice rounding
  2. Selects the record in the Rounding Product box that is adjacent to the Round Invoice Invoices to Last setting
Then, after a staff member approves an invoice:
  1. ezyVet uses the product record to calculate the correct rounding
  2. The invoice shows the rounding product record and the rounding value as an invoice line item
Tip: When you make a basic product record for invoice rounding, enter a product name that clearly identifies the rounding function. For example, if you enter a Round Invoice Invoices to Last value of 10.00, you could enter a rounding product name of Rounding 10.00.

Invoice rounding example shows an example of an approved invoice. The first line item is for a hairball remedy product that has a price of $9.72. The second line item refers to the rounding product that a practice manager configured for a rounding quantity of $1.00. ezyVet automatically added the second line item to the invoice after approval. And because of the rounding, the total value for the invoice is $9.00, not $9.72.
