Sync settings of a centralized inheritance configuration

An ezyVet site that uses a centralized inheritance configuration has many system settings that you can use to configure how data syncs to inherited sites.

This example image shows the sync settings:
Sync settings of a centralized inheritance configuration
The sections that follow give the function of the sync settings.
Note: Some of the setting names include the name of the tab of the applicable record type. Thus, the name of the setting changes if you select the tab of a different record type.

For example, the Products tab has sync settings for product records. And the Appointment Types tab has settings for appointment types. If you select the Products tab, ezyVet shows a New Products Are Disabled sync setting. And if you select the Appointment Types tab, the setting name changes to New Appointment Types Are Disabled.

Applicable settings in the sections that follow have <record type> in the setting name. The <record type> text will change when you select a different tab.

Primary sync settings

Primary sync settings gives the primary sync settings.
Figure 1. Primary sync settings

Primary sync settings
This table gives the function of each setting:
SettingFunction
Sync <record type>If you select Yes, the central site syncs the record type to inherited sites.
New <record type> Are DisabledIf you select Yes, new records that you make in the central site sync to inherited sites as disabled records.

If you select No, new records that you make in the central site sync to inherited sites as enabled records.

Require Confirmation to sync existing <record type>If you select Yes, ezyVet tells you if it finds a central site record that has the same name in an inherited site. And ezyVet does not sync the record unless you give approval.
ezyVet has two buttons that you can use to give approval:
  • CREATE NEW
  • REPLACE EXISTING

If you select CREATE NEW, ezyVet makes a record in the inherited site. ezyVet does not replace the record that has the same name in the inherited site.

If you select REPLACE EXISTING, ezyVet replaces the record that has the same name in the inherited site with the record from the central site.

Note: Be careful when you use the Require Confirmation to sync existing <record type> setting. And the setting not applicable to all record types.

Record properties sync

Each record type that you use the tabs to select has a set of record properties. You can select the record properties that the central site syncs to inherited sites.

Record properties example shows the available properties for the tax rate records of the central site. The properties show after you select the Gst Rates tab.

Staff cannot change the property in inherited sites.

The Record Registers section

The Records Registers section shows record sync information. The information includes:
