About ezyVet fax messages

ezyVet uses its standard fax system to send faxes. The standard system makes it easy to send faxes from ezyVet with no configuration necessary.

Note: Each fax that you use ezyVet to send with its standard fax system has a maximum file size of 5 MB.

Configuration of a different fax system

If necessary, a practice manager can configure ezyVet to use a fax system that is different to its standard system. A different fax system also has a different email account that ezyVet uses to send the faxes (for example, a Microsoft Outlook.com email account).

The information that is necessary to configure a different fax system in ezyVet includes:
  • The web address of the fax system
  • SMTP settings of the email account to send faxes from ezyVet (for example, the SMTP port and SMTP host)
  • The email address that ezyVet uses to send faxes

To configure a different fax system, a practice manager sets the Use Own Fax Account system setting to YES. As a result, ezyVet does not use its standard fax system for fax messages.

Note: If your organization uses fax system that is different to ezyVet's standard fax system:
  • It is not possible to monitor fax statuses in ezyVet
  • Communication records of faxes that you send from ezyVet always have a status of Done
    • The Done status can show if the fax system did not correctly send a fax
Note: ezyVet customer support cannot help you with problems that are related to an email account of a fax system that is not ezyVet's standard fax system. The email account can have many different settings and possible configurations. If the settings and configurations are not correct, you can have problems with sent or received email. If necessary:
  • Refer to the applicable documentation for the email account
  • Contact your IT staff
