Make and send an email

After you make a Vello campaigns email, you can send it to all clients or only some clients.

Refer to Email variables for Vello campaigns and read about the function of email variables (applicable to step 7 of this procedure).
To make and send an email, do this procedure.
  1. Open Vello from ezyVet.
  2. In the left sidebar, select Campaigns.
    Note: If the left sidebar is closed, select the campaigns button:

  3. Select New Campaign.
    Note: if you want to make changes to a draft email, select the vertical ellipsis (  ) that shows adjacent to the applicable newsletter. Then select Edit.

  4. In the Campaign name box, enter a name for the email.

    Note: The email name shows only to you and to other staff.
  5. In the Description box, enter information as necessary.
    Note: The Description information shows only to you and other staff.
  6. In the Email Subject box, enter an email subject.
    Tip: To add a variable to the email subject, select the variable button. Vello uses data from your PIMS to automatically replace the variable with client names, pet names, and other information.

  7. Select a template, then select Start building.
    Vello shows the content builder:

  8. Add images, text, and links.
    Tip: If the content builder knows about problems with the content that you add, it shows a number adjacent to Audit. The number identifies the number of problems. To show a list of problems, select Audit. Then select a list entry to go to the content that has the problem and correct it.

  9. If you want to add sections to the email, select Section as necessary.

  10. To do a check of the newsletter content, select Preview.

  11. When the newsletter content is prepared, select Set schedule and recipients.
    Vello shows a Campaign details dialog box.
  12. Select Send to all active clients or Filter recipients as necessary.
    Note: If you select Filter recipients, Vello shows filters that you can set as necessary. For example, if you want to send an email only to patients of a specified age, use the Patient Age boxes to select an applicable age.

    Tip: To send a test email, select Send a test then enter an applicable email address.
  13. Select Send now or Send later as necessary.
    Note: If you select Send later, enter the date and time that you want Vello to send the email.
    Note: It is not possible to enter a date and time that is in the next five minutes.
  14. Select Send now or Schedule send as necessary.
Vello sends the email to clients or schedules it to send.
