A clinical record can have dedicated notes information. You can use the notes to enter information about patients that you monitor in a hospital or treatment room.

Hospital notes

Use hospital notes for information about a patient who is in hospital or surgery. For example, a hospital note could have information about:

• When to feed the patient
• The planned time of the patient’s surgery
• Important observations and requirements

Note: The doctors of an organization usually use the hospital notes.

Tip: Make sure that hospital notes are short and do not have information that is not necessary.

If you select the In Clinic Notes button of a clinical record, ezyVet shows the hospital notes.

ezyVet automatically syncs hospital notes to the Hospital tab of the dashboard. And if you enter hospital notes in the Hospital tab, ezyVet syncs the notes to the clinical record.

Note: If your organization uses the SmartFlow integration, notes that you enter in SmartFlow sync to the hospital notes in ezyVet.

In-clinic notes

Use in-clinic notes for staff to enter their morning and evening in-patient notes. The notes could include when the patient was fed or other important in-clinic observations.

Note: The nurses and technicians of an organization usually use the in-clinic notes.

If you select the In Clinic Notes button of a clinical record, ezyVet shows the in-clinic notes:

ezyVet automatically syncs in-clinic notes to the Hospital tab of the dashboard. And if you enter in-clinic notes in the Hospital tab, ezyVet syncs the notes to the clinical record.

Note: The Hospital tab shows an in-clinic note with the name Consult Notes:

Templates for in-clinic notes and hospital notes

You can use an ezyVet template for in-clinic notes and hospital notes. If you use a template:

• Staff can easily use a standard set of information for the notes
• It is not necessary to fully make the content of each note each time
• The notes can use ezyVet template variables to automatically show many types of applicable information
