About image annotations

An image annotation is an electronic mark that you can use to identify important areas in an image of a patient.

For example, you can add an image to a clinical record. The image is usually the same species as the patient. You can use image annotations on the image to identify areas of the patient’s body that have problems or other important information. ezyVet keeps the image annotation with the clinical record.

Example image annotation shows an image that is a feline skin map of a patient. It has image annotations that identify important areas.

Image annotation files

Image annotations use a source image annotation file. A practice manager first adds the image annotation file to an ezyVet site. Then, other staff can select it in a clinical record and add image annotations.

Correct file types for image annotations

You can add annotations to images that use PNG format or JPEG format.
Note: You cannot add an image annotation to a PDF document. You must first convert the PDF document to PNG or JPEG format. Then, add it to ezyVet as an image annotation file.
