About standard operating procedures

Use ezyVet’s standard operating procedures feature to make documentation that is applicable to your organization.

A standard operating procedure:
  • Is a document that a staff member of your organization writes
  • Is applicable only to your organization
  • If necessary, is applicable to a specified department of your organization
  • Shows only in your ezyVet site and does not show in the sites of other organizations that use ezyVet

You can use standard operating procedures to make documentation for many different tasks and types of information. Because ezyVet keeps the standard operating procedures, it is not necessary to use a different system to get access to them. As a result, staff can get access to the documentation directly in ezyVet.

Examples of the documents that you can make with standard operating procedures include:
  • Training content for new staff (for example, how to use your organization's inventory system)
  • Medications and doses for medical conditions
  • Checklists for important tasks
  • Source content that staff can copy and paste into documents easily
  • Organizational procedures (for example, how to do payment reconciliation)

Note: To make a standard operating procedure, your user account must have the Administration > Standard Operating Procedures > Edit Standard Operating Procedures permission. If you do not have the permission, you can only read the available standard operating procedures of your site or department.
