About IP allowlists for sign-in access to ezyVet sites

ezyVet has IP allowlist settings for sign-in access to sites with single-site configurations.

Note: The IP allowlist settings for sign-in access to ezyVet sites are not related to the IP allowlist settings for sign-in to departments. And sign-in access to sites uses a different IP allowlist than sign-in to departments. For information about IP allowlist settings for sign-in to departments, refer to IP allowlists and access to departments of your ezyVet site.
Note: You cannot use IP allowlist settings for sign-in access to ezyVet sites if your site has a:
Remember: After you make the settings, select Save.

Restriction mode settings

The Restriction mode box has three modes available to select. This table gives each mode and its function:

ModeFunction
DisabledStaff can sign in to ezyVet from all IP addresses.
Warn onlyIf staff try to sign in from an IP address that is not in the allowlist:
  • They can sign in to ezyVet
  • ezyVet shows a message that tells the staff member that they signed in from an IP address that is not in the allowlist
RestrictIf staff try to sign in from an IP address that is not in the allowlist:
  • They cannot sign in to ezyVet
  • ezyVet shows a message that tells the staff member to contact their site administrator

To let all staff use single sign-on (SSO) to sign in from all IP addresses, activate the Exempt SSO logins from IP restriction setting.

Note: You can let a staff member use an ezyVet username and password to sign in from all IP addresses. To give the sign-in access, activate the Login Restrictions > Allow user to login from any IP user account permission.

IP allowlist configuration

To add an IP address to the allowlist, select Add IP. Then, enter the IP address.

Note: You can enter an IP address that has one of these formats:
  • One IP address in IPv4 format
  • One IP address in IPv6 format
  • A group of IP addresses in CIDR format

An IP address can include a wildcard ( * ).

If you enter an IP address with an incorrect format:
  • ezyVet shows Invalid format
  • You cannot save the settings
Tip: To add the IP address that you used to sign in to ezyVet, select Add my current IP. After you select Add my current IP, ezyVet adds the IP address in IPv4 format.

To remove an IP address from the allowlist, select the trash can button that is adjacent to the IP address.

Note: If Restricted mode is set to Disabled, you cannot make changes to the IP allowlist.

Possible problems with IP allowlist settings

If there are problems with the IP allowlist settings, you cannot save the settings. You cannot save the settings if:
  • Your IP address is not in the allowlist, you signed in with your username and password, and your user account does not have the Login Restrictions > Allow user to login from any IP permission
  • An IP address in the allowlist does not have the correct format
If you cannot save the settings, ezyVet shows an error message that tells you the problem.
